Talking about ergonomics can still be very complex for many people and companies. Despite being a current topic, its history shows how the concern with adapting work to men comes from a long time ago. Curious to know more? In this post we will explore some basic questions about ergonomics and show how Cavaletti adopts these concepts.
The origin of the word Ergonomics comes from Greece, with ERGO = work and NOMOS = rules. The Brazilian Association of Ergonomics – Abergo Ergonomics describes Ergonomics as “Scientific discipline related to the understanding of interactions between human beings and other elements or systems, and the application of theories, principles, data and methods to projects in order to optimize human well-being and the overall performance of the system. Ergonomists contribute to the planning, design and evaluation of tasks, jobs, products, environments and systems in order to make them compatible with people’s needs, skills and limitations.”
In the past, it was said that the main objective of ergonomics was to develop and apply techniques for adapting elements of the work environment to humans, with the aim of generating the well-being of the worker and consequently increasing their productivity – present even in legislation through of Regulatory Standard 17. Today we can say that these concepts go further, being considered as one of the main factors for maintaining quality of life.
Based on this concept, Cavaletti has adopted principles of Ergonomics since 2002, through the “Programa Viver Cavaletti/Cavaletti Live Program”. This program includes practices aimed at our employees, such as:
The principles of ergonomics are also consolidated in the rigorous product design processes through a multidisciplinary team. It is composed of ergonomists, engineers, architects, designers based on solid research that contemplate the human being in all its aspects, with the objective of meeting the individual needs of each of its users. Therefore, to translate this individuality, we develop products that contribute to comfort, as we are not the same, we have different sizes and needs.
We add ergonomics concepts from conception, production to the use of our product. Our culture of health and well-being is part of our daily lives for the simple reason that we believe and respect our greatest asset: People!
In conclusion, ergonomics transcends work environments, transcends legislation to be permeated by all activities of the individual, whatever, wherever and for what the activity is performed. Simple as that, ergonomics for life, without mysteries.
